Wheat Flour
Our soft red wheat is grown locally in Perkasie and stone-ground at Castle Valley Mill in Doylestown. We offer both the soft whole wheat flour and the bolted (sifted) flour. The soft whole wheat flour maintains the bran and wheat germ to produce a fuller, nuttier sifted flavor. It is well suited for baking pancakes, muffins, cookies, quick breads and the like. The bolted wheat flour, while lower in protein, is sifted to remove the wheat germ and is best for batter-style baking, making it ideal for scone, biscuits and other pastries. All of the protein, fiber and nutrition of the wheat germ are maintained in both with no additives or preservatives.
Flour is available in 2lb bags for $6 and 10lb bags for $20. Available for purchase in the Windybush Hay Farm office.
